All the possible answers are predetermined. The chart on the right has the same symbol against each correct answer for all numbers from 10 - 99. Each time you try, the symbols are scrambled and changed, but the symbols against each answer are always identical. When you click the ball, this is the symbol displayed, which will always be correct, unless you make a mistake with the sum.

To check it, just try a few out without clicking the ball, and you'll see they all have the same symbol.

Did I make sense?
