Fished a match there today on Dog Kennel lake. More like Dog S*** lake. There's a new bit at the back and an old bit. The best weight on the back where I was didn't beat the worst weight on the old bit. Not impressed with the venue. End of winge.
You can have some good days at Woodhouse grange because it's empty most of the time so getting fish on the hook is easy because they are hungry. You should have asked the freindly bailif for some tips on how to fish it.
top tip for woodhouse - buy one of his breakfasts and stick it in your bait tub (dont eat it whatever!).
Top up your swim regulary by cupping in some of the fried brekkie mixture - you then just have to scoop the stunned fish from the top as they come up belly up
Seriously though, Ive never had any probs with the bailiff - he does come across as beeing a bit keen if you start to fish without buying a ticket first but most people aregue cos theyve not stuck to the rules etc - i.e they move peg or something like that whihc the rule's say you cant.
Ive always found the fishery to be quite busy too - not many pleasure pegs at weekends.
re fishing - Ive had some big weights at woodhouse - the kennel lake is solid with fish and you can normally get a respectable weight of skimmers, goldfish, rudd, roach and tench etc if you dont catch carp.
