Well a busy session today with lots of roach but sadly most were very small, with only a handull about 4oz, and one small jack pike that was fun on light tackle.
Going again tomorrow but to a section we know can produce some decent fish, fingers crossed the fish are hungry.

Lad going to the pond in the village again tomorrow, less wind. I have set him a target of 20lbs of roach (optimistic). Meanwhile I will have to work.

I’m planning to get to Tunnel Barn on Sunday. I haven’t decided which pool yet though, that will depend on how far I want walk.

1 and a bit hours in the summer, so I would expect him to get the same in an afternoon. He needs a challenge. I didn't say it would be realistic

Well today was a great day to be outdoors, headed to Wellingborough Nene embankment and had 5 hours on the bank and had 2 bites all day. Bumped one and landed one 2lb2oz. The swim looked like it would produce more but not a lot wanted to feed. Fished waggler across, feeding maggots and hemp, and a bit of everything on the hook. Hopefully I’ll get back on the river before the end of the season and put a few more in the net. Now where did I put that after sun.

Was back on my local commercial today. Fished better than it did last weekend having warmed a bit more, might have cracked the 50lb barrier. Just done a report in the where I fished today section.

Been to Hemington (Rycroft) today, on Ye Olde Canal.

Started off first hour on the waggler rod and had a few roach on dead reds.

Next, half hour on the tip. First chuck, the tip went round straight away and in came a small tinca, caught on double corn.

The rest of the day I was on the far bank and caught mostly tench with roach, couple of skimmers, a decent bream around the 2lb mark, and a nice little perch. Bait was dead reds or corn, never had a bite on pellet. Never had a carp either which for me ain’t a bad thing. Much prefer to guess what’s coming in next, plenty of time for carp in matches Enjoyable day, first time out since Dec. 27th and even sat in my T-shirt for a couple of hours, it was that warm

Off out to a club water tomorrow. Try & bag a few F1's, Ide, tench or chub. Had a couple of stinkers on my last two visits so hoping for a more productive day.

I used to be HemingtonHooker when I organised a few matches there and you should still find the match reports on here I think (Match Results).

I changed my MD name to Whisker as that was my first proper pole (started with a Tricast XRS 12m margin).

Not the day l was hoping for, the fish never seemed to get there heads down, maybe it was the overnight frost, bright sunshine or new moon, who knows l dont. Had 5lb 5oz all roach catch apart from a solitary dace. All caught on 2mm bread punch, and fed a few small blobs of liqudised bread during the session, via a cup.
I might dead out again tomorrow, but to the Llangollen canal, will decide in the morning.

So looks like next Tuesday or Thursday now.

Fish seem to have done a disappearing act, which is somewhat surprising given the decent weather and rising water temps......
