I guess by now you know I'm thinking about feeder rods. The Maver Horison xd 100 gram has some appeal to me, has anyone seen one, they don't give a line rating as far as i cab see? . I've never had this brand, are their rods any good please guys? Maver have a good reputation I'm told? I trust a lot of opinions on here, so who else would I trust?
Thanks.

But Sam, it is a new rod yes?

Yes, I believe so. However, you said you weren't familiar with the brand and that's what I was addressing. Surely you are aware of Fox/Fox Match? I wasn't trying to suggest that the Matrix Horizon XD was previously available under a different name. I've never owned a Matrix rod. If the right one caught my eye, I'd not hesitate to buy one. I've had enough Fox, Fox Specialist and Fox Match gear over the years.

I've got six matrix feeder rods including the XD 100gr. I love them all and use the XD for bream fishing with braid at anything over 50m. Can also be used as a river rod with the heavier tips in.

Nicky. Would that one be ok for barbel fishing on the Trent. Cast up to 100 grams is quite enough for me. Lastly Nicky is it a nice looking rod, on a slim blank? Thanks ideal I've seen your thread. Rich.

I couldn't give an honest answer about barbel fishing with it as I've not tried it yet. I've only used it once on a local river and that was a 25m chuck into 25ft of water fishing for bream in a big slack. I have the 130gr as well and they both become a different animal with the 4oz tip fitted. Next time I get down to bewdley/kiddo I will give them a try. A word about the ring spacing....they are rung for distance and similar to a carp rod. I personally like the look.

Just measured the XD blank and its 13.5mm just above the handle. As opposed to a daiwa conny z which is 17mm.

Thanks very helpful and kind too. I'm in the 'I'm unsure place as I have a few in my head" But the XD is in the mix. Again thanks Rich.

Just spoke to a team mate and he knows two lads who use them for barbel with the heavier tip in.
