I have both funnily enough mate and the 2508 does the job for waggler fishing and stick float but I use the slightly heavier and larger 3012 for feeder work and it works a dream, hasn't locked up yet and have had tench to 5lb on both the 2508 and 3012.

I've not got anything bad to say about either and they are good bang for your buck. [:D]

if you want it for both i'd go for the larger 3012. alternatively have a look at the daiwa procaster x 4000, less money and more features, got 2 of each 2500 and 4000 and still can't work out how they can be so cheap[:T] cheap is not the right description really, inexpensive, good value, i think someone in there pricing department had a few beers at lunch before working out what it should be for what it comes with, you get the picture, i like mine a lot [;)] much less flash to look at but compare some of the features with the TDR. just a shame there's no double handle version....yet[;)][:T]

save your money and buy a pro caster, the 3000 size does me for the float and feeder on the commercials. 40 odd quid and imo better than the whisker.

I think they are deffo better than the whiskers,10 ballbearings, airbail aswell.higher spec, maybe just a bit heavier.the 3000 is similar size to the 2058,and the 3500 similar to the 3012
