Hi there,
I am wondering what the best rod is for a bit more power. I am looking to target tench, bream and chub. At the moment i have a match rod but am looking for something with a bit more beef.
Thanks Dan

welcome Dan..
myself i use a maver black ice 12ft two piece rod, i use this for margin work as well for carp well into double figures..
i use 8lb line straight through and it copes very well, very light but power when needed..
the new maver genesis black ice look good as well and keenly priced around the 60-65 mark...
to be honest though there are a multitude of rods that will suit out there and you will probably get 101 different answers as to what is best..
i would say pop along to your local tackle shop with a budget in mind and see what takes your fancy, if you see a rod you like and are unsure as to what they are like then fire away some questions on here about it, i'm sure somebody will know something about it or even have one and give you a totally unbiased opinion

Hi there
I am looking at a Korum 3g 13ft medium float, Greys prodigy tx 12ft specialist float rod or Drennan Series 7 Tench/specimen float.
Has anyone got any advice.
