I personally dont like the Maver top kits, and the new range are top heavy from the reinforcement unless you go to a 361 up.

The SR5 is a little heavy, but that makes it stiff. I dont know about the others in the range. Good at 14.5m and not sloppy.

G20 is a LOT better pole than the 525, v.good at 14.5, fishable at 16 and all the generic spares fit it. 525 is awful at 14.5 and IMHO is identical to tks40 i used to have, superb at 13m.

Best pole for a 1000 or under is the G20. 625 is close. Sr5 if you want to spend a little less.

I personally like the sensas poles, but the 734 is gonna be just like the SR5, but the full range of kits fit giving options.

If you only fish 13m and below, just get the 525.

Stick with the 40 mate. 525 is no better. There won't be anything for that price any better either, the 40 was a price point breaker!!!. You need to spend a grand + to get something I would personally consider fishable at 14.5m. As always with poles tho buddy, horses for courses.

Let us know what you go for.

i have the g20,its comes into its own after 10m! its very stiff & responsive at 14.5,i have fished it at 16 with ease,i carnt fault it.a real pleasure to use,if you can stretch to a g20 you wont be disapointed.

im a fan of the maver range, and if your looking for a competition pole then the 401 or 471 are very good poles, or if your after more of a lumping pole go with the new jurrassic range or the invincible.
