Hi all,

I am getting a new seat box, and want a decent one. I was looking at getting the Patriot, it had a good review in Improve your coarse fishing. But chapmans tackle are going out of business???? if i am correct.

I have 200 squid to spend on one... I want one for the pole, so please could you let me have your recommendations.

Thanks

watercraft concept box - 160

Ive had this box for about 2 years now and i love it. Red drawers to match the aray of octoplus gear (tackle tart or what), mud feet and pole seat sold seperately, all in all it set me back about 207. 4 cross drawers with spacers (detachable) and enough room for rigs underneth the seat. Reels and more bulky items can be stored in the base, and a quality locking mechanism to make sure it stays shut. Brilliant piece of kit though, offers the option of another level of drawers (40) if needed.
Check out Fosters Of Birmingham in the back of the Match Angling Plus for a good deal, thjats where i picked mine up from.
Failing that id part my money with: Danson Angling or indeed a Match Box. Don't waste your money on a poxy little gem, i dislike those boxes so much.

My moneys with the watercraft. Good Buy

Whatever you get i wouldnt reccomend the penrose. Had one for under a year and already the legs are very kinked and the screwfits not working properly. It is also starting to rust slightly so im not too happy. However the box itself has good storage and the rest of it is reasnoble quality. Have a look at a boss b-tek or matchbox pyramid as i've had these reccomended.

Little Gem 5-drawer
Good value for money and I've had mine for over three years and not managed to break it yet. All the drawers still open when you want 'em to and more importantly stay shut when you want 'em to as well!

Cheers Simon and all..... I am making a list that you are all kindly supplying.

Questions: Does the little gem come with the platform etc.. and the pole holder etc.. if not what are the costs, need a total cost.

I am after a box with the mud feet, pole arm, drawers, etc...

Thanks

Bargain Seatbox - Absolutely Superb

I bought a superb box mail order from Wickford Angling. It's got 6 drawers (2 deep,4 shallow), pole seat, footrest, detachable base, and comes with a trolley attachment like the Boss Box. In fact it's almost identical to the Boss Box.

This box really is the dogs whatsits and the price is amazing, 400 no, 300 no, 200 no,

how does 199.99 sound jump.gif

Sorry about picture quality, just went out and took this in the dark for you.

Before you start thinking I work for Wickford Angling, I don't. I'm just so impressed with the box that I've recommended it to loads of people and they have all bought one.

They also do another box without the footrest and trolley attachment for 159.99

You can visit there website at www.wickfordangling.co.uk for futher info but I would suggest ringing them on 01268 768857 and having a chat.

dont touch the above box, ive had one for a few months and the wheel kit is already totaly knacked. It was a bad choice on my behalf, there are much better bulit boxes aroud for the money.

My wheel kit has been fine, and it's suffered a load of punishment, i think Gazalmans set may have been faulty and would probably be replaced. If you decide against this box then the Danson Box is also very good value for maney. I work at a fishery and i've seen loads on the bank which in itself is a good recommendation.

I am still weighing up my options at present. I have also been looking at the box made by Badger International the System X 5 Drawer seat box, but it comes with a 4 bar deluxe footplate, feeder/pole arm support, side tray and grounbait side tray. Does anyone have one of these and what are they like?

Thanks

I think if I was gonna spend around that price I'd probably get one of the new fox boxes, they look extremely well made and have had some good write ups

Just had a look at that box. Nice box, the only think I would say is what extras can you put on it, as the feet do not look that great, the mud feet a pretty small. Can you add extras to it like the octoplus system??

Thanks again

Ive seen these fox boxes and there very very solid, definatly worth the money. Octoplus doesnt fit this box however as it's got square legs, but theres plenty of stuff about thats better than octoplus about for square legs. Preston off-box stuff is good for brolly clamps, keepnet arms, feeder arms etc as for side trays have a look at the fisheasy's Ive got a 6 box one with an extra support leg and it's the dog's danglys, I'll show you it on saturday + the bad box with the wheel kit that I shouldn't have got!

I got the 6 drawer Fox box. cost me 215. The 3 drawer should be around 140. Very pleased with it. Superb quality - very well built. As mentioned above, square legs isn't a problem. Again - great quality box. [:)]
