Whats your favourite hook then?

Been using and like B520s for silvers on the Severn.
Got B611s for Bream on my holiday.
Wide Gape Carp for winter commercials and Lobworm for Chub in larger sizes.
Super Specialists and Animals for Barbel.

Nothing fancy these are all nice cheap.

Concensus seems to be QM1 or B911... I like the
Korda Wide gapes in the larger size 6-4
And Nash Fang Twisters in 8-10

QM1 as others have said. Use size 10 on method feeder for commercials and had 1lb F1s to 18lb carp

Couldn't pick just one but I do like the Drennan wide gape pellet, Kamasan b510, Preston Pr36 and Prc1.
Other, less often used but still favoured hooks are Maver Mt1 and some very old Mustad 90340.

You've still got some original 90340's ? You're a god. Best hook ever. A hook well before its time. ?

21 and 23 ? I thought they were only available in 20, 22, etc ? Youre right, Ukzero1 mentioned the new version of the 90340 wasnt as good. ???

801 for expanders, 808 for other baits on the float. Any make of circle hook as guru, Preston and Middy make them for the method. Plus quite a lot of others actually thinking about it. Been using some pinch barbless for the maggot and pinkies as l have quite a few packets.

Not doubting ya fella. Back in the eighties I only used two hooks. The 90340 in sizes 16 to 24 and Au Lion D'Or in sizes 22 and 24. The latter were a good stillwater silver fish hook. I think they were one of the first micro barbed hooks but, dont quote me on that.

I also have a few 90343 canal fine hooks but these are the pre tied ones, they are size 17, my brain is too old and full of rubbish to remember when they changed from odd to even sizes.

I remember having some gold hooks from mustad but, I cant remember the number. All the rage at one time for bronze maggot were 'nt they ? ?

The only gold hooks I can remember from back then were the specimen sweetcorn hooks from drennan.
