15 quid for parking ,did they fill your tank up while you were on your trek ?
Glad your in good health but losing weight in your wallet fast maybe.

The £15 is the parking fee plus I guess a charge to use their facilities. It's free to visit the abbey and grounds, as long as you don't need to park

if you want to venture a few miles further for a cracking meal I can highly recommend The Lion Inn, Blakey Ridge, Kirkbymoorside, North Yorks
Locals often head up there in the middle of winter - just on the off-chance of getting snowed in
Apparently it happens to the staff more regularly than to customers - usually just overnight until the snow-ploughs get through but there was the locally famous case of seven people getting snowed in for over a week in 2010.

Whitby was rammed yesterday & today - it always is on sunny bank holidays - half the population of Teesside seem to head there - take plenty of change - it's £9 for a days parking.
