After plumbing the depth what do you use to mark the depth on your pole? I know a lot of anglers use tippex but I have read in one of the angling magazines in the past that sometimes this is not good for the pole(due to the scraping off, I think)Are there any alternatives to this that you use?

You could use pieces of elastic , once on they stay in place . I put 2 on my topkits one for marking depth and one for hooking the line when not in use. Mal

Sorry I'm new to pole fishing and don't understand much. Why would you want to mark the pole for the depth?

Get them rods bent, get them reels screamin', get fishin!

joe,

You mark the depth on the pole when it is placed along side it,so that you can later experiment with depths during your session and return to the "Dead depth" at any stage of the day without having to plumb again.

Hi,
I've used Tippex or similiar (the type in a pen not a brush) for a number of years. Its quick ,easy, does the job and removes with a thumbnail.I haven't had any problems so far.
Cheers.

Tippex pen. If you don't want to scrape it off with your fingernail, then wrap with damp (with water[:D]) Loo paper for 5 minutes & it wipes off.
