Hi,
what does everyone consider to be the best cheap match reels and best cheap feeder reels? Also, apart from line capacity is there any difference between match and feeder reels?

The Okuma range has been met with brilliant reviews. The difference between match and feeder reels in general terms is ...... match reels tend to have a fast retreive. usually 5/6-1 rate. 6-1 ratio's do tend to cause line twist. Feeder reels are of a bigger size and more durable ie stronger to withstand the constant casting and retreiving of heavy feeders and have a slower retreive rate in the 4/5-1 ratio. All the above is in very general terms. You could use a feeder reel for float fishing but not the other way round. Using a match reel constantly with a feeder would tear the guts out of it.

chill out go fishing

Depends on what you call cheap!

I've just bought a Shimano Nexave 3000R which you can pick
up for around 27-30 quid (closer to 40 some places!).

Its recommended uses, according to Shimano are
"General legering & float fishing, light /medium feeder fishing"
so you get decent all round coverage.

Thats because it's IN the water.
