you pay for quality. I purchased a pair of rubber/neophrene waders from a Chandlers in France, (sea fishing outfitters for about 100) and they alsted about 6 years, Ithen purchased a cheaper nylon pair for about 30 and they lasted a year and where rubbish. Worth while looking at Chandles shops -hope I have spelt in right.
lots of fly anglers use waist waders. The Scierra CC3 ones are probably the best. You need to buy proper studded wading boots to go with them though......
I think you can get a pair for about 100 quid or so.
I've had some Snowbee ones for about 5 years and they're still going strong. Thought the felt soles would wear out very quickly but have been pleasantly surprised. I think I got them from Carillon at Bawtry near Doncaster.
