Veni, vidi, vici - I waggled, I dithered, I bought

Popped up a thread recently about making the mistake of spotting a rod in my local tackle shop and giving it a waggle.

Well yesterday someone I did a bit of work for back in the summer handed over some folding and lunchtime I popped into my local tackle shop once more.

Having handed over the princely sum of £70 I am now the happy owner of a Korum Snapper So Solid 6’ (1-7g) dropshot rod, Shimano Sienna reel in 2000 size and a spool of 8lb Fox braid.

Not a lot of money for what feels like a superb little rod & reel.

There is zero weight to the setup and once I’ve spooled up the reel I hope to test it out Monday with some teeny lures and / or dropshotting on the Thames & Medway canal hopefully winkling out a few or perch and chublets.

It will also be my go to setup for rockpool & LRF work with Jacob at the seaside.

Will be happy to christen it with anything of any size but perch will always oblige I find and I’ll tuck a few worms in a pot too just in case the plastics don’t work out.

Not buying any more bits - wouldn’t have got this if someone hadn’t had Christmas guilt pangs and settled up with me for work I did 6 months ago

I’ve a 2000 FD sienna on my korum snapper rod as well as it happens! Yours looks a lot smarter set up though as mine are much older models the sienna in particular must be 15 years old.
