Urban fox

Sat in a traffic jam this afternoon for 25mins. Bright sunlight hardly moved. This chap just sat there watching! I know who was the more mellow.

Did a job in Birmingham and the buggers were all over the place. Seen lots while sat in traffic. Brazen little sods nowadays.

Working as a Hospital porter a call came in in the wee small hours for a jolley trolley run down to the Mortuary, which was seperated from the main hospital Pulling up to the Mortuary my co worker spotted a pair of foxes cutting across the small field behind the Mortuary. The foxes stopped and just calmly regarded us until trotting on their way. Thirty odd years ago it was a lot less common to see a fox in the middle of a city.

When we lived in Barnes, in London, I would see a few almost everyday, especially on earlies or nights. Since moving out of London 20 years ago, I have seen 3. Two when I used to get the the 5:45 train into work, both walking along the track. and one crossing the road in front of the car last week.

When I was a kid I always wanted a fox as a pet after reading about people who had them since foxcubs .

When doing a pest control job round the lakes, a fox did pick up 2 rats, It was sat just at the back of a rat hole and got them when they stuck their heads out. Don't know about urban though as we don't get them in the village.

I work in crowborough east Sussex, and as a taxi driver I work Friday and Saturday nights. Nearly every road I turn into there will be a fox , they are everywhere here.

That's probably because they get treated as vermin out of the cities and get shot

They are a nuisance species around us - one house in the street has a set under their shed and feeds them - all of our gardens are wrecked from them digging up lawns:

If I was still in valleys Wales not in suburban Kent then they would be ex foxes but using even a moderated .223 in my garden would have an ARV around in very short order
