Unusual Braid on end of Whip

I've seen Whips with a fine flick tip to glue a Stonfo onto, and also seen the cheap type with a metal hoop to connect line to.

The attached image is the first time I've seen a new Whip with what looks like braid attached to it.

How should a rig be connected to this, anyone?

It usually has a knot in the end and you attach your rig as you would a dacron connector

Not unusual, quite a common way way of attaching a rig to a whip, that or two rubbers.

I set up my flick tips originally with 15lb mono with 2 rubber sleeves and a Stonfo connector. I didn't like the way the mono knotted onto the Stonfo and generally prefer braid for Pike fishing etc with deadbaits, lures etc... I used a 8" length of 45lb Fox braid which is finer and much more supple than 15lb mono, doesn't tangle and so far works a treat :)
