I went to my tackle shop to day, to get some casters and maggots, only to see a sign saying you need to pre order casters 3 days prior to picking the up. I ended up just getting the maggots among other things, I'm fishing soem ponds tommorrow that have a good stock of tench and carp and ide, the beauty of them is they much prefer natural baits to big pellets etc, Casters being the no1 bait for them.
Is there anyway of turning some of my maggots to casters for tommorrow, anyway of speeding up the process?
Thanks

the process cant be speeded up because the maggots will be fresh still and not ready to turn

true, and if you kill them then they will just be dead maggots.

If you heat them up only a lil it speeds up three whole life process, put them a very tite lidded box in your airing cupboard or if your like me and have no airing cupboard find a fan hetaer or sumthing like that.
Hope this helps.

but not too hot or they'll die.

Make sure to keep them dry also. They'll generate a lot of heat and start getting sweaty when they warm up in a closed container. Best bet if it's nice outside, leave em outside till it gets dark in a big box with the lid off.
They'll have a good riddle and start using their feed
