Thinks it's about time we had a bit of a reality check about British Steel and the calls for nationalisation.
Greybull bought British Steel in 2016 and the asking price was £1 - where were all the calls for it to be nationalised then?
British Steel Scunthorpe/Teeside started announcing problems three years ago which finally led to the announcements of it's closure - not ONE of our EU partners has shown any interest in buying the business. Neither has there been any real interest from any of the other global industrial nations.
British steel "TATA" has not been British owned for 10 years and there were talks of closures long before Brexit started - nobody else has come in and showed any interest to buy it.
The question has to be asked is why is nobody interested?
