I have mentioned on another post that I am offering a fish in on my new club waters on the Trent and I thought that I would get this underway early after all, to assess the level of interest.
If it fishes to its potential and the weather is good, the venue should offer something for everyone.
Bearing in mind that some people are tied up for matches, that most work and want weekends, that the longer we leave it the colder and more likely bad weather is , I want those interested to suggest dates and the 4 w/es we should be able to access the stretch are Sep 21/22, sep28/29 oct5/6 and oct 12/13.
I think the venue offers about every query or wish list that has previously been asked for and I am going to write more fully about my reasons for joinimg the club, in Club house, but
We can arrive and bivvy the friday night in the meadow behind the river.
We can fish 20 river pegs and 5 lake pegs.
Any method can be used, the only ban/stipulation is barbless hooks to be used.
We can match fish and use Keepnets, but we cannot keep fish for excessive hours in keep nets.
The 20 river and 2 of the lake pegs are suitable for the disabled and all 22 have platforms with Octoplus fittings and Parking behind the pegs in the meadow (unless the river is in flood!)The depth varies on the river from pegs of 3' to 12ft, the lake is max 4ft.
the cost for the w/e will be around 10 for 2 days fishing and bivvying (3 per day plus 2 per night bivvy), so 1 day visits just 3
The limit will be 24 Anglers plus me!lol
Fish?
You can expect just about anything?
I have been regaled with the tale of the local Bailiff Chris, wading in and repairing a platform, when a Pike estimated at over 30lbs swam betwen his legs! Barbel well over 10lbs, Chub over 5, Bream slabs etc.etc.3lb Perch documented ,Roach of a smaller stamp. The lake holds Tench, Bream, Pike that can be caught on lures as well as deads and Carp are in the Trent system.
I believe, knowing this stretches history.
Finally, there is even a brick built toilet on site!

Oh yes and you can get a bath!
Just walk riverwards from your platformicon_smile.gif
There will be no major walking!lol and hopefully Adam S will come across with a Ceilidh band!LOL icon_smile_big.gif
I think thats everything, please add your interest and preferred date, so that I can organise.
I have left as big a gap as I dare from Dai's Wales venue.
The location is Barrow -on -Trent village, A5132 off A50 not far from Derby.
Full directions are From North or South on M1, exit Junction 24A and take A50,3rd exit A50= A5132 Barrow 1 mile
----------------------------------------------------------------------
From South and South West M6 to Stafford, A518 to A50 Uttoxeter, follow A50 to A5132, or
M6 Junction 6 A38, to A5132 Willington, Barrow 1 mile, or
M6 Junction 4 M42 Junction 23A M1 Junction 24A M1 A50 to A5132 junction Barrow 1 mile
-----------------------------------------------------------------------From North M6 Junction 15 Stoke- A50 to A5132 Barrow-on Trent

I do not intend using this fish in as a charity function so soon after Yateley and Elvington, but as a fun fish in, ope you can join me

All being well you can count me in Trev. Any date will be ok for me.

I can't believe I'm saying this but you had best put "The Mackem" down as well. As you know he's in Ireland till Saturday.

Del.

Not fishing? Then talk to your friends on MDs.

Yeah, Toma's reserved too lol, He has already phoned twice from Ireland over another matter he's concerned about, but unfortunately I was out both times!
Not to worry, no way could I miss him, Martinwould string me up lol.
Get reading those Diaries and I'm planning some awards! Teepees camera plays a part, but also, if someone gets a special and out Archie's Archie, then We'll go to Town!

Sept. looking favourite, I wanna try for those Pike too Martin!
CYA all soon

John,
Thats great,
finding a venue you will enjoy as to those IZaak type carp puddles has made my day!
There's even a possibility that Archie might pop in!

You should have lures before I go to Ireland, let me know if they arrive OK please
Cheers

The Trent Trev?? Why the heck did you you have to pick the Trent?

What a goddamn heck of a river, lol icon_smile_big.gif

Stick my name down and I'll dig out some proper feeders.

At the moment any date is okay, I'll have to take a rain check nearer the time tho',

From the replys so far and bearing in mind Dazs comments about the weather, it may well be best to try for the earliest possible date, so lets try for the 21st Sept. W/e.
Anyone who cant make it but would really like to fish the stretch, hopefully I can arrange at a later date on a single trip!
How does that look fella's?
