Our healthy version of fish and chips, so it’s a breaded cod portion with a couple of waffles and a few petit pois. Usually followed by a slice of bread and butter topped with marmalade.

My version:

Skinless boneless cod fillets from tesco sprayed with frylight and pan fried.

Small Potatoes chopped rustically with the skin on, coated in frylight, salt and lashings of black pepper and air fried for 30 minutes at 180C

Lashings of freshly cooked mushy peas with a touch of salt.

If you're into slimming world friendly food like i used to be, this is all free food. No portion is too big 😋

The only thing that should be put on a good steak is... another steak ;)
The missus loves Mushroom sauce, I prefer mine 'neat', it's moist enough inside, doesn't need anything other than a bit of Teriyaki sauce to dip it into

If you've got a Nisa near you check out their steaks we get a pack of 4 sirloin or rump here for about £10.
The gammon slipper joints for about £6 are superb done in the slow cooker for 4 hrs.

Fillet steak, dunked in clarified butter and then chucked in the hottest pan imaginable for 90 seconds each side.

Heaven.

I found a pack of sausages in the fridge that we’re going out of date. I can’t bear to waste food so 16 pork sausages went under the grill and I had them all for my tea. Little pot of tomato sauce to dip them in……lovely, shame I didn’t have any chips🤪

@Swim Jim Do you use a smoker or a Kamado. I have a kamado and use it more than the kitchen. A giant Pig in blanket with stuffing.

That’s a quality cook mate. I’ve got a Weber kettle. Use the snake method with briquette. What thermometer have you got there. I use the Weber Igrill would be lost without it.
