Thoughts on the Shimano Catana 1300 Pole?

I've been offered one of these for £50 with 2 top kits, one of them being a Shimano Gen X top kit.

On the pole it says Gen Z compatible; what's the difference between Gen Z and Gen X?

Are these poles any good or best avoided?

What's it like at full length?

Many thanks as always.

I've got one. I use it for margin work & its handled decent carp pretty well. A bit unwieldy at 13m though so I just use it for top kit plus two or three sections

Friend of mine has one, he his happy with it, and some decent fish on it, At 11 metres its a very usable pole, at 13metres it can feel a bit unwieldy but managable, For the price you have been offered to buy it at, i would snatch his arm off, Good luck.

This and the Technium are very similar and both great up to 11m. Great price if in good condition. Would have now hesitation in using anywhere. I loved my Technium even over a much better pole I owned. Loved the smooth finish / quality.
Wouldn't hesitate owning either pole.
Spares still around ....
