Information is the most important commodity in the world, can be bought and sold and all without you knowing a thing about it.... maybe we the public should charge royalties regarding our own info....???? I went through my phone apps a while back and shut off info sharing permissions on most of my apps...

This is the main reason I'm not on any of the classical social media sites - nothing where I have to use my real name and provide updates and check-ins about where I am. I'm also careful not to mention whether I'm away for work, holidays etc, or going out for the night. At best you're setting yourself up for targeted adverts at worst your feeding the stalkers... not to mention the security services.
