Am I alone in wondering what happened to the mesh catapults? These new fellas with the little nylon cups are ok, but I don't think they're a patch on the softer mesh ones we used to have for firing casters, etc to the far bank of the cut. I find myself dropping a bit of bait and getting a tight feed more tricky. The new elastication system coming out of the top is fantastic though. Anyone know of a manufacturer that produces something that has the best of both worlds?

May all your lines be tight ones, and may all your tales be tall ones.

the drennan deli caty has a mesh pouch and the elastics real easy to replace. I think there about a tenner. I really like it for firing hemp and caster to the end of my pole(8m). To fire further get a match caty same price but a nylon pouch. Fires miles!

Get them rods bent, get them reels screamin', get fishin!

I find the Drennan Match Caty (the Deli Caty's bigger brother) is very accurate, and keeps a tight grouping of bait every time.

It only cost 6 and has replacement mesh cups and elastics.

Buy it!

Yeah, these Drennan ones are all well and good, but I don't think they're as good as the simple oval pouches of a few years ago.
