I stood and watched the clear sky welcoming the dawns rise over Anglesey, not a cloud to spoil the view of the majestic mountains.

Time stopped, motionless, silent, a gentle breeze swaying the trees that lines one of our premier fisheries "Llyn Y Gorse".

Three pools made up this venue fit for kings and princes. The "Carp pool", lazy in it's appearance, the "Match pool" 11 meters wide all over and reputed to one of the fairest match pools around and the "Mixed lake" with a good head of fit, healthy and hungry Carp, Roach, Rudd, Bream and Tench.

I walked along its banks talking my self into fishing the place soon, although the cost of a day ticket was 9:00 for the day, this would be a real treat and the good lady wouldn't mind (too much).

While I walked along I bumped into the fishery owner, a nice man (for an Englishman that is), he stopped and said "Hello how are you? I haven't seen you here for ages"! I of course greeted him in a similar manner and told him of my intension to fish his establishment very soon.

He then went on to say You better hurry up lad as Im putting the price up before long

WHAT I said youre putting the bl***y price up?

Its going up to 10:50 as of April 1st

You are taking the p**s mate and with that I returned to my car and went home.

So the next time you think you pay too much to fish somewhere, remember most of you only pay 4 or 5 per day.

Make it 1.50 to 4 Waxi,
But I have it on good authority that it would be dearer here, but for the conspiracy of having daft Welsmen pay the silly prices to subsidise our fishing!
Go soon!

You don't know your born you lot roflmao.gif
The going rate down here in the south is 7.50-10 a day.
If you want quality then i'm afraid that you have to be prepared to pay the price.
Sounds a lot,but think how much a round of golf would cost you.
Check out what membership of your local golf club would cost you compared with the cost of joining your local angling club.
Sure some fisheries overcharge, but these tend to not last too long as anglers soon vote with their feet.
Quality fisheries will always find a ready market for a quality product.

Around this way it's
1.50 on the canals (only ever get charged one 1 stretch) so mostly it's free.
Stillwaters between 3.00 & 10 average is 5.
