Anyone from Nottingham who held a Stanton ticket will have to agree that "the beauty spot" was as pretty as a picture. I've not seen it for 40 odd years, it's probably a car park now😪
Still there although it's no longer on the Stanton ticket they dropped it about 5 years ago. 10 minute walk from my house.

One of the estate lakes at work (and yes, I'm allowed to fish it, although because of Covid, not for the last year. Not sure if we will be allowed again)

Medley on the Thames is very nice. Probably my favourite venue as it fishes very consistently as well as looking nice.

Bit more hit and miss fishing wise but Clifton hampden is another nice looking Thames stretch.

Highley on the severn is a lovely valley and good fishing.

Then my old favourite stillwater was quite pretty when in full bloom as sort of a big farm pond really. Really good fishing as well.

Thanks ,not an early riser but do like the idea of fishing the river again .
Generally have to get there around 7.30, certainly 8.00 latest if you want to park at the end if not you can end up doubling your walk if you have to park further up. Probably not so bad in the week but I mean weekends and in last years case furlough time. Generally best part of the session is in the morning as well before the boats really start up. Well worth it though as most years it does fish remarkably consistently for a natural venue.

It was blowing a hooley this day and my photo doesn't really capture anything special but Himley Hall is nice, that's my Tench Estate Lake, up one end anyway where there are pads and reeds as the other end is a bit of a concrete bowl. A nicer Tench lake that I want to fish but am waiting on club membership for is Dudmaston Hall.

Can't really complain when I've got this on my doorstep :) ..... The Wear, in Durham City - normally completely devoid of anglers too, strangely!

Used to walk the path from the Bailey along the river a couple of years ago for my MA- does it fish well?

Maybe not wildly stunning scenery, but there is a quarter of an acre lake in Derbyshire that is nestled in a wood that is special to me. As it's on a private estate it's not fished much and has a lovely stamp of roach and rudd not to mention carp to 8 Lb.

Early morning after setting up, I'll pour a cup of tea and just sit and take it all in, it is a place my soul feels truly at ease.

I fish Hampton Loade most years it’s a wonderful day ticket stretch. I’ve had Barbel to 11,04. Beautiful but I’ve never seen so many ducks
