I’d be surprised if any ‘highlights’ as I think England will get pumped. I’d love to be proved wrong though……

Anderson not playing in the first test is an interesting move. There’s been a ton of bad weather in Queensland and it often does swing due to the most humid conditions in Australia test grounds. Personally I would pick Leach along with Robinson (Seam & Bounce), Woakes (Swing) and Wood (Pace). Broad has been a spent force for quite a while now and Woakes is also a better bat than him.

If England bat as poor as they did in Sri Lanka and India, they will likely get pumped. Plenty of variables in the Aussie camp; Starc almost being dropped is pretty much unheard of, Carey is a better bat than Paine from what I’ve seen.

Wish I could watch live but not an option atm

Sorry to be negative gentlemen but after the fiasco at Yorkshire I feel a bit disillusioned about cricket, would really look
forward to the ashes as a rule.

They have a far better bowling unit than England with players to interchange - on the home pitches they will continually have us in trouble.
The final test score could be embarrassing.

I think there's a fair bit of rain forecast, so don't worry just yet.

Damn, I should’ve put the lottery on last night. Bad technique from Burns, regardless of his unorthodoxy however, the 1st mistake wasn’t made by him, but Root choosing to bat, idiot. He clearly wanted to avoid doing a Nasser in 2002, but the conditions aren’t the same.

To not play Anderson or broad let alone both of them on a lively pitch then bat first on said pitch against hazlewood and Cummins doesn’t seem very smart. I would have thought the dead MCG pitch would have been the game to rest them for not the opening one but even so could have possibly got away with it had woakes and Robinson got first use of that pitch. Good way to lose the match in the first innings batting first on that with no meaningful warm up. Gives OZ all the momentum for the series now.

Cloudy, grassy pitch...gonna swing like a b@$¥@r) bowl all day long... poor captaincy, also a bowlers pitch... Anderson and Broad should have played, poor selection... the Crims must've been rubbing their hands in glee

Poor cricket all round by England, I’m afraid. Hope I’m wrong but I see a whitewash on the cards……….unless the weather bails them out throughout the series.
