Can't say I find american humour that funny really, bit juvenile, more of a Fawlty towers man myself. :)

For a BBC list compiled by 'critics from all over the world' you'd probably expect there to be loads of films from different countries but with the exception of a few French and a single Czech film there isn't. I think it's because I can't even think of that many decent comedies from different countries, they just don't seem to do them like the US and Britain. Having said that I have 2 French comedies in my top 10.

I was a film addict in my teens. every Friday/Saturday and Sunday night I would be up watching films until the early hours.

Just watched The Plank, a few chuckles, thanks for bringing it to my attention, goes to show what you can do without dialogue which is probably why there are a lot of silent comedies on that list. It is very rare I watch comedies these days though as I've lost my sense of humour, has to be a top actor like Peter Sellers to really catch my attention.
