Hello everyone

I was just watching a report on the news about this awful summer
we have had to deal with over here in the muddy isle.

It was the rainiest june on record.

It was the wettest july for 10 years.

average temperatures were way down for this time of year.

The average hours of sunlight were the lowest in 15 years

and all in all it was the worst summer for about 20 years.

I guess that explains the generally poor catches for cavan
and the shannon region.lets hope its better next year.

Adam.

The Daily Express 2/8/02 (still only 20p in London Geoff)

"Britain is experiencing what is set to be the warmest year since records began in 1859.
Met Office figures released yesterday showed that so far this year, temperatures have been more than one degree above average,at 16C.
Rainfall for the first six months of this year is 17in, which is near the normal average."

A slightly different picture on this side of the Irish Sea.

Lol Peter,

It's true we are all sat here in Scuba gear.
My backgarden is 75ft long and all ba the last 10ft of it was under water with the deepest being 8inches near the house.
It got so that I thought about taking the fish for a walk rather than the dog icon_smile_big.gif

On Tuesday last Leeds ground to a halt as many roads flooded, manhole covers were blown off, tarmac lifted and the inner ring road in places was under 3ft of water.

Parts of Yorkshire are now on serious flood alert as once the water finds its way into the rivers they are expecting some record levels -anyone got a boat lol
