I'd like to target some tench this spring, but dont know of a venue with a large head of Tench in.

Does anyone know of a venue within 40ish miles of Salisbury where I gould bag a big Tinca?

I don't know how far South Cerney is from Salisbury, but one of their day ticket waters, Wick 1, has big Tench. I was there last week and caught one of 4-6lb but they go a lot bigger in there!

There are some gravel pits in and around Ringwood which is reachable from Salisbury, When you arrive go into Avon Angling in Ringwood and they'll put you on a decent pit. Pit's aren't easy though?

Try the Lake at Steeple Langford mate, North West of Salisbury.

I don't know if you can still get day tickets for the lake at Stourhead, if you can you MUST pay that one a visit.
That has a really good head of Tench.[;)][:D]

Cheers David, I'm just about to renew my membership for Salisbury & District which owns Steeple Langford so I'll give that a bash.

Is this the fishery you were thinking of in Stourhead?
