Years ago if fishing for chub on the Trent would never attempt it without using bronze maggots, as it turned out the dye used was nasty stuff. But they worked.

Then we found turmeric

I have been using a maggot feeder with 2 red maggots on the hook for the last 4 weeks, its usually very effective, however it slowed down on boxing day so switched to an 8mm Pink krill Wafter with F1 Dark Ground bait on a small Hybrid Method Feeder and that worked a treat.
