Is it a walk to the peg? Arthritis in both hips is not good for getting kit to a peg.

I am up for the 24th September chaps. Well done Nelson for sorting a venue, and like the idea of donating peg fees to charity :)

8:30 breakfast sounds a good one. I wonder if they will put on a buffet style breakfast similar to the one Breamie organised at one pub venue a while back - enough food ordered for everyone and everyone just helped themselves. That would cut down some waiting time perhaps?

Draw 9:00am, Fish 10:30 whilst 4:30 perhaps?

sounds good
do you want to run it on total weight or points ?
I dont care either way
But the draw should be just odds and evens - lancs or yorks - team captains can then pick who fishes what peg
Most of the pegs have good access - a couple are a long walk or have steep slope not suitable for Geoff P and other non athletes - thats why a traditional draw probably won't suit
There are only 3 or 4 pegs that have a long walk - all the others you can park within 20 yards of your peg

Points based on position, ie 1 for top weight, 2 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, etc and overall team weight to be the decider if both teams have same number of points.

Pools to be maximum 5 as per usual Maggotdrowning matches and split it into 1st 2nd 3rd weights and sections of 4 or 6 depending on numbers ?

Good call on the draw and team captains drawing odds or evens

I'll donate a shield or trophy so the winning team can hold onto it for glory until the next match as well [:D]

I tried before to get an engraver to engrave 'Lancashire' on a trophy and he just laughed and said it would be a first if he did manage it lol

That's a point, I'm assuming Carp now count even though we'll most likely be struck down by the hand of God Cleggy [:D]

September 23/24 seem good, outside of the usual holiday season and still decent enough weather .
Now just got to work out which is best, the Saturday or the Sunday ?

Not good for me, got a club match on the Saturday, and cannot fish both days.

Oh bugger [;)]

For anyone who is interested in a practice
We hold regular matches 5 all in
Next one is Sunday 9th July - draw 4.30pm - fish 5.30 til dusk
then
daytime matches
Sunday 16th July, Sunday 30th July, 13th and 27th Aug - draw 9am fish 10 til 3

No need to book on - theres plenty of room - just turn up at the draw and fish

(carp don't count as a pound - for those with long memories)
