It's that time of year where opportunistic thieves come out of the woodwork, sometimes out of sheer desperation. Keep your tackle safe during the holiday season with some quick tips:

Avoid using your tackle as bait.

Do not keep every piece of tackle you have in the same place - this makes it far too easy for would be thieves.

Avoid setting patterns - this prevents people from scoping your tackle up, or following you to/from your sessions.

Use a fine point Sharpie to mark your tackle with your name and number, if your stuff is stolen, would be buyers may be able to help you get it back.

When buying or selling tackle, meet in a public place away from your own tackle and home - it seems silly, but you could be inviting a thief in for a viewing!
