when people speak of surface fishing they often mention greasing the line. my question is what do they grease it with?

Another good one is a candle. Pull the line across the candle and you'll find it'll float easily.

I always keep one in my box as they're also excellent for helping you lift the line off the water when mending you line stickfloating

Hi Piker, Try MUCILIN comes in small flat round container, buy it from most tackle shops that sell any fly tackle, one tub will last years, it comes with a small felt pad inside the lid, fold it over your line and pull line through it as far as you need.

catch you later, tight lines, dave....

Lip Balm stick for chapped lips is pretty good, nice little container too.

Fishermen have more fun than people do!

When you do grease the leader leave the last few inches to the hook free from grease.

chill out go fishing

I've had more luck when I sink the last metre of line and float the rest. The line seems less visable under the water 6lbs Maxima is King.
