just a thought, what do prefare when shotting pole floats
styles or small shot, myself i use
styles but here people say if you use
styles and tangle you cant undo the rig
thats why people prefare shot

I've always preferred shot other styles mainly due to easiness of puttng them on and taking them off. I don't it makes a lot of difference which you use. You might get slightly better presentation with styles but you lose time putting them on and taking them off.

I used to use styles but I have found that I was using them for fishing on the drop when I should have been fishing shallow instead. I think that fishing on the drop is a good way of catching but, bigger fish become wise to it very quickly. Over the years I have found that whether you are fishing the waggler or the pole, it is better to have a hookbait in the feeding zone permenantly, rather than dropping it through that area. In which case I would always use shot. Styles have their use but I am sorry, I cannot see the advantages over shot.Some of my mates use styles for shallow fishing but that is asking for trouble with the tangles you are likely to get. Its a new rig when they tangle. To avoid tangles with the shallow approach, try to use a small float without a bristle!

I'm sorry to show my ignorance but what is a style?
I guess its a weight of sorts but if I didnt ask I'd never know.

styles are small weights with a split down the whole section
put on by style pliers
ask at your tackle shop can you look at them
then decide for yourself they are made by
senses and other companys if you decide to buy them
dont squeeze them on tight just a gentle squeeze
