Sorry for butting in but in the interest of ‘ fair play ‘ and to avoid any after match ‘ repercussions ‘ ( not that I’m implying there would be of course !! )
Why not have 3 teams of 4 ?

To be honest Dave I cant ve bothered with the extensive debate about who should be on what team because if I didnt run the match nobody would and it's like all matches nowadays you can turn up on the day to find out someones let you down anyway so it's far simpler for us to lend 2 of our blokes to the opposition and carry on if I select a team of 4 out of my team of 6 I will be accused of picking the best anglers for my team and If I lend the opposition 2 men then I'll be accused of giving them a dodgy angler so you cant win either way.

Agree that’s why I’m getting fed up organising matches as the time effort put in then get folk grumbling over payouts how been pegged even blamed for weather lol

and our team as a handicap in me anyway mate so don’t worry

bet levels up a bit aren’t they lol 😂

Ah when you put it into the context I understand what you mean
my simple solution looking from the outsiders point of view was for ‘ gutsys ‘ team of 4 and decide the other 8 anglers ( your contingency ‘ ) into two teams of 4 by some means, draw numbers 1-8 therefor team of odds and team of evens, but as that infamous saying goes
you can please some of anglers .....................
tight lines to all who participate most of all have a great day

Well its Stowe has lived up to its reputation today with a rock hard performance all around!! Its like the fish have swam down a tunnel never to return !!

Despite the difficult conditions, drawing the more difficult peg sequence and losing our 2 best anglers to the away team the Stowe home team came out on top! A big thank you to the birmingham and earlswood super star Simon Farmer for making a guest appearance on the Stowe home team! And congratulations on your Match win !

Myself and Simon fished a blinder to carry the rest of the Stowe team to Victory after gutsy tried to destract me with grossly offensive dancing for 3 hours I managed to get my blinkers on. Using extensive watercraft and some of shropshire finest red worms I managed to find 2 lovely stowe burglar perch which grinned at gutsy on the way into the net.

Well done to all who fished and thankyou to our visitors who have seen Stowe at it's best today:)

Love you all :)

Results as follows -:
1st - Simon Farmer - 5lb . 0oz
2nd - Kissergram Kirtons - 3lb 15oz
3rd - Lucas Gough - 2lb 4oz
4th - Bend it like Bricky - 10oz
5th - Dealer Dave - 8oz
6th - Pro star Alldritt - 4oz
7th - Gusty Hart - DNW
7th - Jake Northern superstar - DNW
7th - Judas John - DNW
7th - Martin Pingu - DNW
7th - Juicy Jamie - DNW
7th - Tremendous Trev- DNW

I wonder how many are brave enough to join me at Stowe for another knock up on stowey in a few weeks time ?

The poundlanders have got a silvers only match on coppice for christmas dec 15th but it's a crying shame that there wont be a traditional fur n feather on stowey this year ! Would be nice if a few are interested for say Sunday 29th December.

Nottingham visitors more than welcome but will be a traditional match not teams for this one.

Sunday 29th December Open match Stowe pool:

8.30 draw
Fish 10-3pm
£10 all in. All money paid out.

Apologies for the eerie silence on the thread the last few weeks, its been a quiet spell with the start of the Coppice lane winter league having past and today being my last day of University for 2019 on my (postgraduate course) sorry Chappo :) I haven't managed to get out doing much fishing however in the not too distant future thats all set to change.

So the 2nd round of the winter league at coppice saw me 4th in my 7 man section my 2nd disappointing but consistent result im sure consistency is key in these 6-9 match leagues with all anglers dropping the worst 2 results it seems that most are still in with a chance till the last few matches. Tomorrow will see us on the Top pool at Coppice so back to my old stomping ground In its true form I can remember fishing that pool on the bungee about 18-20 years back with chapman catching wasp carp little fast buggers they were back then but a little different story now with some of them going 10lb plus. Fishery Manager Jamie will be there on hand to offer the odd peg service cup of tea or a cheeky squeeze if it gets really cold ! :)

The Final showdown on the Poundlander winter league is set for the 15th December on the Bridge pool at Coppice this will be interesting as it will be a silvers only match and carp are bound to bother most! The outcome of this match will be interesting with Jamie and myself being top of the league on 58 points Chappo and Dealer on 56 points Tev on 46 and Rob on 42. these are the points considering the worst 2 results dropped so a bomb out could effect anyone really badly.

The winter Extravaganza on Stowe pool Sunday 29th December the one that everyone has been waiting for this will be a quality match with 12 angers booked on including some of the best names in sport ! Cant wait for this one !

Pingu
Lucas
Jesus John
Jamie tarpaulin
Kirtons
Gutsy
Chappo
Trevor B
Robbo Ribbons
Dodgy David Hinton
Timmy Mallet
Slasher Davis

Stowe is looking a bit dreary but will soon come a alive with a few superstars around it on the 29th !!

The Stowe regulars have been fishing a six match league this year , entitled The Dealer Dave Poundland league . Venues fished have included Brownhills Canal , Manor pool , The Trent at Catton , Stowe pool and Coppice pools . Today saw a very close Silvers only match with nine anglers competing at Bridge Pool on Coppice . Lucas Gough won with 4lb 10 oz closely followed by Willy on 4lb and Dealer Dave on 3lb 11oz.

The overall league was decided on best 4 results from six and thus ( with 20 points for a win ) the maximum achievable was 80 points .

Congratulations to Lucas Gough on winning the league with 78 points , very closely followed by Jamie and Dealer Dave on 74 points ( Dealer picked up 2nd place due to his higher weight achieved in his 4 declared matches ) Chappo was 4th with 73 points .

Big thanks to Dealer Dave for providing tackle prizes for the top 3 plus lucky dips for all todays anglers .

Plans are well advanced for a bigger and better league in 2020 .

Photos will follow

Very humbled to have won the dealer Dave poundlanders leuge this year!!

With 3 tiny fish after 4 hours today I thought i was going to crash and burn but then the tiny roach turned up and a worked my ass off for an hour to put just 4lb 10oz in the net but they were tiny so I caught a lot of fish and bloody loved it !!

Well done to all who have fished and framed a special well done to Chapman, dealer dave and jamie who kept me on my toes all the way through the leuge!

A huge thanks to trevor b for running and organising all the matches and to dealer Dave and chapman who have made prizes possible!! Your all stars !!

Cant wait for Stowey on the 29th now it's going to be epic !

Hit every bite ! You never know which one will be your last !
