Steve storms into final 2019

Round eighteen of RiverFest saw fifty-five anglers take on the River Thames at Clanfield. Although some overnight rain gave the river a touch more flow, the cold water seemed to slow up the sport.

First place and winner of zone B was Drennan Aqua's, Steve Townsend. Steve fished the Pole at 14.5m for 8lb of perch and two chub, feeding chop worm and caster through a bait dropper for a weight of 15lb 2oz.

Second place and winner of zone C was Tony Watling. Tony weighed 10lb 6oz which was a mixed bag of roach, perch, dace, and gudgeon over groundbait and pinkie.

Winner of zone A and third in the match was Cameron Hughes, Cameron alternated between 3.5m whip and 6m pole to catch mainly bleak, in the last hour the bleak moved on and he was able to catch some good stamp roach to finish with 10lb 1oz.

RESULTS:

1. Steve Townsend - 15lb 2oz
2. Tony Watling - 10lb 6oz
3. Cameron Hughes - 10lb 1oz

QUALIFIERS:
Steve Townsend, Tony Watling and Cameron Hughes.

Next Qualifier: September 28th, River Thames, Reading.
