Hi Ray,
1. Double-click the My Computer icon from the Desktop.
2. Double-click the C: icon from the window that appears.
3. Scroll down to the file that is named: "Logo.sys".
4. Right-click the "Logo.sys" file, and select "Copy" from the menu that appears.
5. Right-click a blank spot in the C: folder, and select "Paste" from the menu that appears.
6. This will create a backup copy of this file, just in case you make a mistake in the actual "Logo.sys" file.
7. Double-click the "Logo.sys" file.
8. If an "Open With" window appears, select the image editor program you want to work this image in, and click OK.
9. Edit the Logo.sys file as you would like, and save the file (as "Logo.sys").
10. When you start your computer, you will see your custom Startup graphic., not the default startup graphic.
You can also edit the files: C:WINDOWSLogos.sys to edit the "It's now safe to turn off your computer" graphic, and the "C:WINDOWSLogow.sys" file to edit the "Windows is not shutting down" graphic.
Hope this helps, but please do parts 4,5,6
If you cannot find the file then go to Start>Find>Files or Folders and type in Logo.sys in the search box
Regards, Dave
