Hello everyone, i've been a member on here for a few months now and it's a great site, i'm 55 now and consider myself to be old school fishing wise.

I'm looking for a few bits for my 10 year old son who i'm introducing in order to captivate his heart into our wonderful sport.
I've sorted out a nice 13' Shimano match rod and reel for him but looking for the following in excellent condition;....

A - Preston Carbonactive - mini -12' powerfloat rod.

A - Boss trolley

A - Whychwood 3 tube rod bag, and net bag.

A - Matchbox ( old school mids nineties ) seat box

This one's for me, has anyone got an excellent condition Shakespear 14' Excelsior with bag and it's tube? I'm also looking for
old school fuji mach rings from the nineties, greys and sic's if anyone has any?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Bit specific that fella. Looks more like a shopping list than a ‘ few bits ‘ ..... in excellent condition. Do you have a budget for these items ?

More than happy to pay going rate for these items, should see people rewarded nicely for the right item!

Items are specific, sorry if this offends anyone, as i bought all of them for myself mid 90's and like them. I don't have the Preston rod but a very good pal has and it's perfect for what we will be doing. The rod and net bag will probably end up buying new to start of with, they're cheap enough........but i do rate Wychwood.

I need the rod rings to correct the ringing on the Excelsior, goes straight from a 10 to a 4.5mm on the butt section. I would like, specifically , in the cheap (greys Shakespear used ), 7mm, 6mm and 5mm, or a set of sic's. I'm considering buying broken rods to achieve this if i cant find new rings. Thanks.

You can buy rings from a company called guides and blanks.

I think you will struggle being that specific. Plenty of stuff on the market that is equivalent. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be as they say.

Sure the Preston is a nice rod but there are plenty of power match and pellet waggler rods around.

The match box you seek was terrible.
I had one and when it got wet it was a nightmare to open the drawers as they swelled up.
Much better boxes on the market second hand in my opinion but good luck in your search. 👍🏻

He's a lucky 10 year old to be having that gear bought for him .
The mid 90's Shimano Aero match i bought him last week only cost me £36, i wasn't prepared to give him anything better to start with, Lol.

Been offered a Match box on fb today for £40 in V.Good condition round Derby way but it's too modern for me. They normally sell for £50 like this one did a couple weeks ago. I was talking to my pal on the phone and missed the end by a couple minutes. This would have done him until we could find the next one pictured. I prefer these as they don't leak when your in the river with them.

Tried Guides and blanks and several rod builders, exhausted those avenues so thought i'd try here.

I'm probably going to have to find a rod with these rings on and take them off to put on mine.

A Pal is going to lend me his Preston carbon active 11' -Mini- float rod which will do the job until i can find the 12' Power float.

No he wouldn't, and anyway we walk fairly long distances on the river, thats what the Boss trolley is for.

Not heard of the Nufish stool, had to look it up, he needs something to carry all his gear in that i'll be loaning / giving him and for now his box can carry the ground bait. ;)

Mark - is that Rickmansworth as in near the Aquadrome? I could probably sort the Boss trolley - bit used and I think will need an inner tube, as one tyre refuses to stay up for more than a week, its ok for trips provided you pump it up the night before!
