In this age of commies do people still use 22s 24s and 26s or are they a thing of the past.

i was thinking the very same thing the other day! when i was a kid,it was always 3lb mainline and 20/22 hooks.that caught us everything from bleak up to some nice perch and bream. nowadays my lowest mainline is 4lb but it's 6 that i use mostly and size 12/14/16 hooks!

I used a 22 on the river the other day on my whip .10 bottom and 22 611

I'm not sure i could tie a 26 these days unless it was a long shank

Gone are the days when i'd sit it out for a few tiny silvers on micro hooks, maybe when I was younger and fished every single possible moment. But I figure if I have to fish that fine then it aint going to be that enjoyable fishing anyway, I walk the bank insted or turn to pike fishing. I remember size 26's with a few ounce bottoms and having to play in 1 to 2oz silvers....

I use 22 and 24 in the cold weather when scratching :))
I still like fishing for bits on a freezing day with pinkies :))
Got some 26's somewhere maybe I give bloodworm a go this winter !
Got down to 30 in eyed barbed for tying some American fly patterns but could never quite manage it!
