Slow Forum......

Hi All,

We're having one or two problems with the forum running a bit slow at the moment especially at busy times but not to worry everything will be sorted during the next couple of weeks.
There are several factors that slow it down - the number of images in threads, the number of people on at any one time and the demand on the site are all contributory factors. All of which are increasing faster than we anticipated. (We're not complaining though

)
So please bear with us while some changes are made at the server end and we get the turbo fitted

Workin fine for me,i'm on a 56k modem which runs at 33,600bps

Updates r requirred though for all sites...

The bigger the better...

G if your modem is 56k & its only running at 33k/s then thats slow mate.

I'm using a business super compression modem which is designed to run at 33k/s & its actually faster than most 56k modems.

As for the site being slow what do you expect?, its running at the same speed as its owner

If u read the my last post,i was not slagging off the speed of this site...All i was saying is that it is running ok for me(not slow)

As for the 56k,nobodys runs at 56k,its always running about 33/39k..
For those peeps who want to check what speed your pc is workin,right click on the two monitors,click on status and u will see CONNECTED AT????????

Almost every site,needs updating every so offen.....

G sorry mate i think i confused you a bit.

When i mentioned the sites speed it wasn't aimed at you it was for aimed at the softie who owns the site mate

You're right about the average speed of connection i've only seen one or two connects running at 40k or above (on a normal dial up that is)

i'm running a smartriser pci card (internal modem) and since
upgrading to XP it always runs at 50.6Kbps except occaisionaly
when it ups this to 52Kbps,Good or what!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone

I havent a clue what I'm using as it is the companys pc (its alright bossman I'm on my dinner!!).
The forum seems quick to me though. Maybe its this cable connection at the back of the pc thats stuck on it and padlocked around a plate type of socket on the wall, ah whats this - Property of ..... & Co, Ltd. There are some other cables as well hanging about the back so one must be the connection gimmage thingy. Just a minute theres a wide flat sort of cable - ah ha I've got it it must be broadband

I've read some of those jokes as well - what is he on

Hi All,

We've just had a fresh delivery of coal and managed to stoke the fire up under the boiler that supplies the steam to the server and it's starting to speed up nicely now.

Hey wax, looks like you've go the job as our resident comic. The pay cheques come once a month the same day as Troggs and the rest of us
