Hi Dave thanks for the reply. I've watched the Alan Scotthorne video now and I'm fairly confident with the method, it's the small things I want to work out like getting better at feeding etc.It's amazing what old posts get dug up Best advice is keep it simple and as per the article Emma has highlighted, using a minimally loaded float. It's a great method on the right venue.
I found one of my old sliders to show how simple the floats are. As you can see this one has had a lot of use and won it's fair share of money on the Yorkshire Ouse, River Tees and also featured in an article I did for Match Fishing on the Bristol Avon. As stated loading should be minimal, too many shop bought floats have far too much loading. The float should also rest on the ollivette when cast and both should stay together through the air when cast.
