Try backing off the rear drag completely and re attempt to remove the spool via the centre button.
Failing that, the spool can be disassembled from the front via a front captive screw ring.....You should see some annular cut outs that can be tapped Anti clockwise which will remove the assembly....You may not have to completely remove this just try unscrewing said annular ring half a turn and retighten slightly which should remove enough pressure to remove the spool from the shaft... Obviously retighten ring properly when done, but don't over tighten it.
If you have to remove this ring completely, please take note of the order of parts (washers spring etc) for re assembly. Good luck....
