They're in the same price range I think. Is there a general preference on the forum as to which one is better rod?

Cheers

Forget the Tyson the tips are so brittle to be untrue. I’ve broken 2 without even trying and at a third of the price of the rod they do not come cheap.

It would have to be the Shimano out of those two for me. It has a better action when playing fish, you can bend into them

Yes I had/have the AX - the first one snapped in half on a cast but was very efficiently replaced without quibble by AD, the supplier.
The second one has been used a couple of times but I'm not happy with it. The consistency for accurate casting just isn't there, and it locks up causing hook pulls almost costing me a golden nugget
