Hello,

Sharlston Dam is a very unpredictable lake,

you can fish and have a really good session and for example, if you fish it again on the same conditions, peg, bait, setup etc you won't get a bite!

It gets even harder on matches, it's as if the fish know!! This years current top match weight is around 36lb I believe.
Although this could be due to the fact that the matches are run on the same day and time every week.

I can't really say how pole fishing does on here as I mainly use method feeder or float.

The Carp give good surface fishing in summer on floating bread, but never leave your rod unattended as the carp will take it with them.

There is a good head of Tench in there that give a really good fight.

Method fishing with 3/4 of a worm works well, along with double sweetcorn on the hair rig.

Luncheon meat tends to be used more for the ones that target carp

hope this helps,
if you require more information don't hesitate to contact me

Regards,

Chep
