There are reports of pollution on the Shannon at Tarmonbarry, aparantly this has been an ongoing thing for over a year!Anglers expecting the huge nets of a few years ago are coming up fishless, great rafts of white foam are reported to be floatin down the river coming from an as yet unkown source.Water clarity has increased dramaticly and riverbed life is almost non existant, however when you move a few miles away fishing returns to normal,it seems to be localised between Carrick and tarmonbarry, anglers and conservationists are at present trying to locate the source of the pollution. And by all accounts locals are appathetic to the situation..Typical!!Anyhow i hope i have given anyone planning a trip to this area time to review theyre plans. Tight Lines.
