ermmm... CASTERS and a fake caster on the hook helps too as you can catch a few fish on the same one.

you do the same thing with casters as you would with maggots. eg catapult or throw in by hand on waggler and on the pole , pot them in or catapult. The main thing is for fishing shallow is little and often, eg 6 casters every 30 seconds and do it like clockwork.

Just because caster is used on the hook dont mean you need to feed caster getfishing. Same goes for if your fishing maggot on the hook you can feed caster, i know many top anglers that feed maggs and fish caster on the hook as 9 times out of 10 it picks the better stamp out. But if you just have casters the feed caster and fish caster on the hook or meat can pick out the better fish[:T]

good old hemp and caster cant beat it , just feed a few grains of hemp with a couple o casters every minute and keep lifting your pole and lowering in sequence with your feed keeps ya busy ..

when fishing shallow with casters , caster is the best bait to feed , try using the head of a worm on the hook , can catch you a few more fish sometimes[:T]

shallow fishing needs to have a feed which makes a noise to be effective , caster makes more noise than maggot[:T]

A worm head is also more durable than a caster so you can miss a few bites and still have your hookbait intact rather than a shelled caster.[:T]

So i've been told. [:D]
