I bought this reel last week before going to Barton Court Fishery where I would be fishing the stick float.

At first I found the thing a [}:)] to use and was getting in tangles around the reel - I was only using a mainline of 2.5lbs at .10mm dia. which meant I was making things difficult for myself. It took me several hours to get used to it but by the end of the day I was happy with the reel and it certainly gave me better control over the float than a open faced reel would give me.

I'll certainly be using the reel again as the day was a pleasure added to be the reel.

Ratings

Ease of use[:D][:D][:D][B)][B)]
Smoothness when trotting [:D][:D][:D][:D]
Lack of good line guard [B)][B)][}:)][}:)][:(]

Recommendations

Use a slightly heavier line than I started with.

Fit the line guard

Definately buy the wide spool version.

Having used a centrepin for a long time, I can tell you that line guards are an absolute pain in the ... the line seems to be able to knot it's self to the guard and they get in the way when batting the reel to retrieve. Learn to use one with out a guard and they become a joy to use.

Cheers
