Venue: Parkers Lake nr Coventry
Time : 8.30 till 1.30

Today saw the lads from RADDAA fishing at Parkers which is a 1 lake fishery with about 40 pegs that you can park behind so no walking is involved.
It has 1 island and most swims have reeds in the margins.
It also has a snack bar which has to be the best value Breakfast in the country with a full breaky costing 2.50 (taste's great to).

Parkers is a funny venue for matches as the policy there is that pleasure anglers take priority and match anglers have to slot in to any empty pegs.

And as most anglers that pleasure fish it are carp anglers it is 1 of my least favourite waters as at time's it sounds like a Tesco's checkout with all the bleeping alarms set on full volume (why)!!.

View across the lake from behind the snack bar.

But today was different and although the alarms were there in force they were silent for most of the time as the carp did not feed so for once the lake was quite peacefull.

With the Carp not playing ball today the weights were low as most caught small Roach/Perch/Tench/Crucians and the odd Skimmer although a couple of dry nets were recorded.

The full result was as follows :
  • Malc Doyle...9lb 10oz
  • Bob Berry...7lb 2oz
  • Rob Taylor...4lb 5oz
  • John Dance...4lb 5oz
  • Tommy Taylor...3lb 13oz
  • Jack Beards...3lb 10oz
  • Brian Barnes...2lb
  • Maurice Law...1lb 15oz
  • Pop...1lb 2oz

2nd placed Bob Berry included a bonus Tench in his 7lb 2oz net as pictured below

5th placed Tommy Taylor (aka whynot) with his 3lb 13oz net of mainly Perch and Cruicans and still with his broken ankle.

Dirk did not fish today as he's off to Stoke tomorrow to fish a BDAA Teams of 4 match.
Best of luck and hope your team wins Dirk.

Next weeks match is on a new Lake at Peatling Parva (The Silver Fish Lake) and none of the lads have fished it before but by all accounts it's stuffed full of Skimmers/Roach/Crucians and Tench so hopefully it should be a good match with plenty of fish being caught.
