Found some old rubber/jelly lures that look very minnow like and I want to try them for perch on the river

My question is they have a very rubbery smell to them. What is the best way to eliminate this artificial smell from the lures or does it even matter?

I think you can buy rubber lures with a fish smell already impregnated in them? I'm not much of a lure angler these dsys do others will be able to help more.
Would soaking them in a fish oil used for fishing like salmon oil work?

Gulp are the company for scented lures. They genuinely almost do work as well as the real thing. Ive soaked doa lures in the gulp liquid before and whilst they dont smell particularly rubbery to start with they do take on the gulp smell a bit but it doesnt last like an actual gulp lure.

Dip them in monster crab, they won't smell of anything else for months.
