At least we managed to have two this year. The first in August was a wakeup call to the other clubs in the area to have a go. Everything having been stopped due to Covid. Several took the hint and thankfully followed our lead. September 5th started overcast and a bit grey but the sun came through for most of the day. Before the match there was the usual gathering who nearly all wanted feeding. As normal for a half day match it was just sausages and chips with plenty of rose and red wine. Sausages made by me. Only the best pork used!! By 1.30 pm all were ready for the peg draw. Jean Luc Rougier drawing the plum peg 23. Our local farming group had pegs 1 through to 7 as they wanted to be near the beer tent. 2.30 pm and the off. As slow start for some but fish were being caught. At the end at 5-00 pm it was as expected and Jean Luc Won convincingly with a 6.610 kilo carp. Second was Alexandre with bream and roach, and third Jean Claude with a very large rudd and roach. At the end of the day all enjoyed themselves. It was so good the see Claudine and Gerrard as they had not been seen since last year, and as always Danielle and Jean Pierre Also Daniel Panassat who has been unwell and insisted on fishing this, his first of the year. He had several small bream and lots of roach. Jade and Timeo, Cathy children, did well. Steve managed at the end of the day to catch a carp so putting him a position to take home yet another litre bottle of Pastis. [/QUOTE]
